Solutions for the readymix concrete industry will be top of mind at this year’s conference and exhibition that will be held at the Misty Hills Conference and Exhibition Centre in Mulderdrift on 26 and 27 August 2016.
Organised by the Southern Africa Readymix Association (Sarma), this year’s readymix conference and exhibition will focus on using concrete wisely in order to get the most out of its properties and on forging partnerships between suppliers to the industry, producers of concrete and the users and specifiers of concrete products.
The event will be held at the Misty Hills Conference and Exhibition Centre in Mulderdrift on 26 and 27 August 2016.
“The conference will also look at strategic information related to the economy and the industry that may help decision-makers to develop strategies that will enable them to make better informed decisions based on the most up-to-date information available,” says Sarma’s general manager, Johan van Wyk.
He adds that the many technical talks that will be delivered at the show will be centred on providing solutions to real-life technical challenges, case studies, best practices, changes in standards relating to the way concrete is manufactured and used, as well as brand new technologies aimed at better, faster and more efficient construction techniques.
Furthermore, the conference will highlight opportunities for the industry and look at ways of utilising resources more effectively. This will include a technical discussion on the use of Eskom-generated fly-ash, which has the potential to be used as an admixture or extender in the manufacture of concrete with potential benefits for certain types of mixed concrete.
