Silicone and Technical Products offers a wide range of products, built on quality processes and backed by more than 30 years of experience.
Since opening its doors in 1984, Silicone and Technical Products (Pty) Ltd has expanded its product range to cater for a wide variety of industries. Driven to produce innovative and quality products, the company has achieved the prestigious SABS ISO 9001 and the ISO 22 000 standards. What’s more, its antifoam products are both Kosher and Halaal certified.
Silicone and Technical Products operates in three main spheres, namely silicone- and polyurethane-based sealants and adhesives for construction and DIY applications, silicone-based antifoams and emulsions used as process aids, as well as the production of a range of brewer’s yeast products.
Siltech: Sealants and adhesives
Used as general purpose joint sealers and crack fillers, the company’s Siltech range includes commercial and industrial silicone and polyurethane products. These are typically used on cement-based building materials, brick, ceramic, marble, glass, wood, galvanised steel, aluminium and most plastic surfaces. Designed to work in a range of applications and situations, the products have been customised to suit different colour as well as shore strength requirements.
Siltech also produces a range of superglues, polyurethane foams and silicone lubricants.
Easy Squeezy: DIY silicone sealants
In 2014, Silicone and Technical Products developed a new range of DIY silicone products called Easy Squeezy, an innovate collection of bath, marine, auto and high-temp gasket silicone sealants. The silicone is packaged in a self-contained silicone sausage designed for easy application and storage.
The Easy Squeezy range aims to offer the home market an easy-to-use product, without the need for specialised tools such as silicone guns. This revolutionary development makes it possible to use less and also waste less silicone.
Biosil: Anti-foam and defoamers
Biosil anti-foam and defoamer products are used as process aids in manufacturing where foaming is prevalent. Foam is generated by the presence of gas or air, and also by agitation of liquids through stirring, shaking, boiling, mixing, evacuation and filling under high-speed conditions. The presence of foam can result in loss of capacity as foam displaces product, inefficient mixing, pumping and separation, and excessive wastage of product during processing.
The product is used in a variety of applications including:
• Packing process aids for food products such as fruit juice and dairy products.
• Boiling and canning.
• Brine solutions.
• Jam manufacturing.
• Protein processing.
• Starch slicing and washing.
• Vegetable and spinach washing.
• Egg washing.
• Re-usable bottle washing.
• Vinegar packing.
• Oil drilling and gas scrubbing.
• Alcohol distillation.
• Paper and pulp processing.
