The ninth ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Awards for the most innovative Italian products in the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishing sectors and the fourth ADI Booth Design Awards, celebrating the booths that most effectively promote companies’ products and brand values, were announced at Cersaie 2023.
ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Awards
A panel of experts appraised the exhibited products during the first few days of the exhibition and selected these that most successfully combine innovation and design excellence in the ceramic tile and bathroom furnishing sectors.
The winners of the ceramic tile category are:
- Marca Corona for Iridea, designed by Maria Chiara Russo – a series of highly refined slabs that combine design and outstanding technical expertise.
- Grandinetti for Miss, designed by Giuseppe Crivellini – an innovative and visually original reinterpretation of terrazzo that incorporates the joint as a decorative element.
- Gambini Group for G-Tech, designed by company owner, Dilvanna Gambini – a product in which a sophisticated and layered technological process brings out material effects that go beyond the mere imitation of stone and allow for more varied interpretations.
A special mention went to Ceramica Fioranese for Cementine, designed by Silvia Stanzani.
The winners of the bathroom furnishing category are:
- Disenia srl for the Libeccio shower column by designer Claudio Papa.
- Ceramica Dolomite for Strategia di prodotto, designed by Nilo Gioacchini.
ADI Booth Design Awards
A panel of judges chose the ones that most effectively communicated the identity and value of the companies’ products.
The winners are:
- Treemme Rubinetterie: Visitors are essentially transported into the factory, giving them an opportunity to explore all stages of the production process.
- Ermes Aurelia: Despite its complexity and comprehensive approach, the booth design maintains a sense of harmony across all its elements.
- Mavi Ceramica: The booth, with its simplicity, effectively tells the story of the company’s growth and makes the product exceptionally easy to comprehend.
- Azuvi: The exhibition booth is meticulously designed and effectively showcases individual products and the brand’s identity in a harmonious manner.
- Flaminia: A rigorous design that removes all unnecessary elements and styling to ensure the product takes centre stage.
A special mention went to Zschimmer & Schwarz Ceramco and Gruppo Romani.
Emilio Mussini, vice-chairman of Confindustria Ceramica, noted: “The fact that the winners of the competition are shortlisted for the Compasso d’Oro, marks an important recognition of the role of ceramics in industrial design.”
