Tygerberg Hospital serves as the main tertiary referral hospital for obstetrics in the Western Cape. In terms of specialists in neonatal and paediatric healthcare, Tygerberg Hospital is staffed by superb individuals who teach at Stellenbosch University and who simultaneously hold critical roles at the hospital – their practical teaching facility.

The Carte Blanche intervention

The Carte Blanche Making a Difference Trust (CBMADT) devised the Cardiothoracic NICU and PICU Project, which entails the creation of a top-end intensive care unit (ICU) together with the provision of equipment and cardiothoracic surgical instrumentation. The idea has been to reinstate holistic cardiothoracic services at Tygerberg Hospital for the many children who need the surgery and the peri-operative specialist intensive care that is required.

On 8 August 2022, the CBMADT officially handed over Phases I and II of neonatal and paediatric works at Tygerberg Hospital. These phases entail the construction and equipping of two specialised units: A cardiothoracic ICU and an isolation ICU.

Custom patterns

Available in 35 standard colours, SureProtect Endure provides a durable and protective layer to complement any interior environment, ranging from education, pharmaceutical and healthcare to retail, commercial office, leisure, and hospitality. It is 1.5mm thick and is manufactured from impact resistant PVC-u which is through-coloured and textured to conceal the effects of impact and abrasion. It is easy to clean and provides a cost-effective way to reduce maintenance costs and maintain the appearance of a building.

SureProtect Endure can be used in sheet form for total wall coverage or can be cut into rub rails or kickplates, or into bespoke designs. It can also be thermoformed to produce bespoke profiles such as corner guards, column guards, or door edge and door frame protectors.
