The acquisition of Granric Insulation by Brits Nonwoven has strengthened the latter’s product offering to the building insulation market, with more future range expansions planned.

In a move to strengthen its position in the building insulation industry with an expanded product offering, Brits Nonwoven (Pty) Ltd, part of the industrial manufacturing segment of Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) listed Deneb Investments Limited, has acquired the business of Granric Insulation (Pty) Ltd, effective from 1 June 2016.

With many years of successful activity in the building insulation market, Brits Nonwoven has extensive experience in the supply of thermal insulation as well as sound absorption products to the building industry.

The company has traditionally been a manufacturer of polyester-based bulk insulation products aimed predominantly at the residential market. Its flagship product, ISOTHERM, is distributed nationally from three factories based in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

Bigger and better
The ever-pressing need to service its customers with an expanded product range that covers a wider variety of applications, led Brits Nonwoven to seek alternatives with which it could increase its product offering to its extensive customer base nationwide.

The incorporation of Granric Insulation proved to be a good match.

“The integration of new business opportunities was officially launched at Brits Nonwoven’s head office in Durban at the end of June,” says Cliff van Niekerk, chief executive officer of Brits Nonwoven.

“We look forward to building an exciting additional leg to our business and securing a good deal for our customers through customised solutions at a fair price.”

The Granric brand
Under the Brits Nonwoven banner, Granric Insulation’s complete product collection will remain unchanged and will continue to be marketed under the Granric brand. Exciting new future range expansions are in the pipeline.

Grant Richardson, former business development director at Granric Insulation, has also joined Brits Nonwoven and will continue looking after Granric Insulation’s existing customers as before. Grant brings with him a wealth of expertise in the industry and will be available to consult with customers on a broad front.
