Breathing new life into old wooden floors

Brian Clark of Diamond Products gives tips and advice on wooden floor restoration. One of the most popular flooring options in the industry is hard wooden floors. The aesthetics, combined with the warmth and character that this flooring solution creates, makes it easier for estate agents to sell homes with hard wooden floors.

Maintenance and restoration of this surface, however, isn’t always as straightforward as people think. Over time, high foot traffic, ineffective cleaning and possible damage caused by furniture, result in a wooden floor losing its appeal as it wears unevenly.

Brian Clark, Director of Diamond Products, says that hard wooden floor restoration and maintenance isn’t all doom and gloom.

“There are a number of solutions available to restore and re-profile a hard wooden floor. By using the correct tools and equipment, you are not only able to re-profile the floor to a perfectly flat surface, but also to restore the floor back to its original state.”

“A series of specialised sandpapers in different grits, fitted to a heavy planetary polisher will produce a floor that looks like new,” concludes Brian.
