Bespoke patterns and tile designs

Finding extraordinary decorative mosaics and tiles that are both fashionable and inspiring has been an ongoing passion for many consumers.

Douglas Jones shares this passion, so much so that they have their own in-house Creative Assembly Department, which brings to life patterns, mixes and fades for all their clients.

In consultation with their Creative Assembly department, the team will create the client’s bespoke tiling design in seven quick and easy steps.

Seven steps to bespoke pattern design

Step 1:
Email them a photograph of what you would like to have converted to a mosaic mural, specifying colours and mosaic ranges required. Their state-of-the-art mosaic software converts your design in a grid fashion as shown.

Step 2:
The pieces are taken off the sheets by hand and collected for rearrangement.

Step 3:
The production department then positions the individual pieces in their proper places, using the correct size mould (jig), and the printed pattern generated in step 1 above is put into production.

Step 4:
They then complete the design in the mould in sheet sizes of roughly 300mm by 300mm.

Step 5:
Each sheet is clearly marked as per grid numbers depicted in step 1 above, enabling easy installation.

Step 6:
The sheets are placed together to check for pattern consistency and for all mistakes or missing sheets. Once this is done, it is ready for delivery.

Step 7:
The finished product installed on site by the contractors.

The end-result – clients aren’t limited by their imaginations!

To make their dreams a reality, 20 staff members are dedicated to making sure their clients’ patterns, mixes and fades are made perfectly and dispatched timeously. This is what truly sets Douglas Jones apart.
