Belgotex recently became the first South African company to have all its SDN tufted bitumen-backed tile ranges certified by the USA-based Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI), in accordance with its Green Label Plus (GLP) Programme.
Subjected to stringent standards
CRI GLP certification relates to indoor air quality and provides companies and clients with third-party verification. Products must meet or exceed stringent volatile organic compound (VOC) emission standards, and not have any impact over the long or short term on anyone’s health.
Look out for the GLP logo
The GLP symbol serves to inform customers, architects, builders, specifiers and facility managers that they are choosing the lowest-emitting carpet, adhesive and cushion products on the market. Look for the CRI GLP logo as proof that the product has been tested and certified by an independent laboratory (underwriters’ laboratory) and has met stringent criteria for low emissions.
