A new Chairman is elected by an association dedicated to specific needs in the flooring industry.
Steven Suntup was recently voted in as Chairman for the next two years at the AGM of The Southern African Wood & Laminate Flooring Association (SAWLFA). Steven was originally Vice Chairman of SAWLFA, as well as the technical adviser on solid wooden flooring to SAWLFA, simultaneously taking charge of writing the SABS specification on installation procedures for wooden flooring.
There’s no doubt that his significant experience in the industry, along with the prominent role he played as SAWLFA’s Vice Chairman, will see him not only embrace his new role as Chairman, but also ensure the association’s ongoing success.
At the AGM, Steven stated that it would be an honour to continue the good work of the association. “We have a great executive team and both Darren (nominated as Vice Chairman) and I will do our best to maintain and push the association forward.”
The Executive Committee comprises: Steven Suntup (FloorworX) Morgan Reddy (Top Carpets Douglasdale) Willie Eales (African Floors) Bruce Walker (Inovar Flooring Midrand) Sasha Kozinsky (Finfloor) Darren Clements (Intasa) Roelf Verster (Azura Distributors) Stratis Fotakis (Fotakis Brothers) Andrew Kirkwood (Traviata) Pasi Muzvidziwa (Single Title investments)
The role of every SAWLFA member is to enhance the awareness of wood and laminate flooring products; protect the end user (and the environment); and educate industry players throughout the supply chain as well as the end user.
