Lepri, a tile manufacturer in Sao Paulo, Brazil, has been in business for 100 years, so it should be no surprise that Lepri has developed such an innovative product.

Developed in collaboration with a jeans manufacturer, Olaria Indigo Collection is made from the darling of fashionistas, denim. This gives the 5x10cm and 7x7cm tiles formats a unique surface texture.

Embracing sustainability

Made by recycling the fibre of the world’s most democratic and beloved fabric, this collection brings a fashionable attitude into the home with an unusual and innovative design.

It goes beyond aesthetics, however, as it minimises the environmental impact of the textile industry, transforming waste into design. This denim tile is modern, yet timeless, and it offers a smooth movement with a pleasant touch.

The small format of the tiles allows total flexibility to projects that use it.

Besides minimising textile waste, the tile has an appealing soft touch.

A century of design

Lepri’s centenary celebrates the values of artisanal production rich in textures, emotional memories and sustainability. “Concern for people, the way Brazilians live, their roots and their need to be welcomed are at the heart of our history,” says Ludmila Lepri, marketing director.

According to José Lepri, chief executive officer, living and breathing the essence of an industry that transforms clay into charming tiles and pieces is truly a privilege and a great joy.

The innovative collection won the Best Cementitious Tile category at Revestir 2025.

It is not only because of their beauty and unique texture, but also because it allows the company to contribute to a more sustainable environment.

Consumer and design trends

Today, 79% of global consumers believe that the role of brands has changed in the last five years, and 40% see this role as making the world a better place.

Thus, creating authentic narratives and real connections will be indispensable in the coming years.

José Lepri explains further: “A total of 47% of Generation Z expect brands to support sustainability. This is the essence of Lepri, supported by sustainable practices, products with recyclable components and a natural (clay) and sensory base.”

Lepri has developed an award-winning tile using recycled denim fibres, embodying the essence of sustainability.
