The 54th Flooring Show was held at the Harrogate International Centre in the UK last year.

A record breaking 3 119 people attended the 2016 annual Flooring Show, which was held at the Harrogate International Centre in the United Kingdom in September last year, an increase of 9% from 2015. The 190 exhibits included a variety of wood flooring, laminate flooring and carpeting.

A welcome addition to the Flooring Show was a new Tiling Show, which was very popular among visitors. People flocked to the tiling section to check out the exciting Demo Zone that was set up in this hall. Other demonstrations at the event included subfloor, tool as well as floor finishes demonstrations. Contractors, specifiers and designers could learn about everything from moisture movement tools to underlays in these demo halls.

A Carpet Fitter of the Year competition took place during the first two days of the Flooring Show. After the six finalists laid and fitted carpeting in front of an audience, the first place was awarded to Mark Smurthwaite. The finalists also had to complete a hand-stitched bullnose step. This competition was reintroduced after a 15-year hiatus and the captivated audience proved that the event had been missed at the Flooring Show.

After a full day of exhibits and demonstrations, both visitors and exhibitors met at The King Suite to enjoy canapes and drinks together. The next Flooring Show will be held on 17 – 19 September 2017. Keep an eye on for more information about registering and attending the show.
