Workshops, talks and events planned for IID members

The African Institute of the Interior Design Professions recently held their first function for 2017 to discuss plans for the year ahead. This annual event is hosted by the IID in place of a Christmas function as they have found that their members are usually under pressure with finalising projects before builders and other construction professionals break for the festive period.

The Function provided a great opportunity for members and stakeholders to socialise and network. Members were updated on the bulk registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) that the IID undertakes at the beginning of the year and the IID’s new regional representative for Gauteng, Carsten P Walton, was introduced to members.

The IID is planning a number of exciting events for its members in 2017. From talks by expert designers and workshops on relevant topics such as contracts and what designers should and shouldn’t be doing on social media, there will be many interesting events to attend. Event dates are still to be confirmed and communicated.

The IID’s membership numbers continue to grow and the organisation is looking forward to another successful year.

FLOORS in Africa and WALLS & ROOFS in Africa magazines look forward to partnering with the institute in 2017 and members can watch this space to get relevant information.
