Visionary architects and designers give inspiring presentations at the 14th edition of NeoCon East. The 14th edition of NeoCon East, the premier design expo and conference for commercial interiors on the East Coast of the United States of America, was held in Philadelphia in November 2016. Captivating seminars and keynote presentations on projects such as the redesign of the Sandy Hook School and the game-changing online tool for government buyers, Acquisition Gateway, to name a few, were presented at the event.

Visionary architect and Architizer Co-Founder, Marc Kushner, was one of the keynote presenters at the event. In his presentation, Kushner delved into how online communication has the power to revolutionise the specification process and shape the future of the A&D industry.

“By value of products chosen, design professionals like the attendees of NeoCon East, are amongst the nation’s biggest shoppers. Where traditional consumers are lavished with new tools like Kayak for travel, Fresh Direct for food and Amazon for everything else, commercial designers are left searching Google and calling sales people. We need to move specification out of the Fax age and into the Uber era,” said Marc.

Award-winning product designer and co-founder of innovative design studio in New York, Birsel + Seck, Ayse Birsel, also gave a keynote presentation entitled Design the Life You Love, where she discussed how to turn constraints into opportunities with optimism and holistic thinking using a simple process called Deconstruction: Reconstruction™. Attendees learned how to apply design principles to their own lives in order to build the joyful, inspirational lives they’ve always dreamed of.

“NeoCon connects the industry’s key players in a powerful and influential way,” commented Julie Kohl, Vice President-Exhibitor sales, NeoCon Shows, before adding that over 200 companies showcased a wide range of solutions spanning the workplace, healthcare, education, retail and hospitality sectors.
