With a record number of exhibitors, Marmomacc 2016 produced a mesmerising display of natural stone, marble, granite, processing technologies and designs.
A renowned international show dedicated to natural stone, marble, granite, processing technologies, design and professional training, the Marmomacc Trade Fair reached new heights this year, with a record number of exhibitors showcasing their latest developments.
New design and processing technologies has highlighted the extraordinary opportunity to turn stone materials into complex artefacts. Part of The Italian Stone Theatre exhibition, the New Marble Generation section, curated by Raffaello Galiotto and Vincenzo Pavan, showed how to develop prototypes of high quality design products intended for mass production.
The Power of Stone exhibition, curated by Raffaello Galiotto, combined traditional stone processing with contemporary design. The installations demonstrated how processes are taken to extreme limits, and included complex surfaces, high-precision details, reduction of waste and the enhancement of the characteristics of the material.
The Italian Stone Theatre was organised by Marmomacc thanks to the Special Made in Italy Promotion Plan of the Ministry for Economic Development (MISE), in collaboration with ICE-Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria Marmomacchine.
