GRS recently announced the complete re-launch of its acclaimed roofing brand.

 

 

Global Roofing Solutions (GRS) recently announced the re-launch of the GRS brand in an effort to re-establish ourselves as the leading roofing manufacturer and to continue market dominance by achieving new heights through the manufacture and marketing of products that meet and exceed the quality and performance required by the global roofing market.

GRS consists of two leading South African roofing material manufacturing operations – GRS Brownbuilt and GRS HH Robertson – making us one of the largest metal roofing manufacturers in South Africa.

According to GRS national sales director, Len Mills, the decision to expand and improve in all aspects of business including service delivery and customer service, came with the advent of centralising the two businesses and put both businesses under one roof in Boksburg. The amalgamation of the two factories, which is now a 50 000m2 factory in Boksburg, encourages a specifier-focused, people-focused, customer-connected environment that placed emphasis on timeous service delivery and allowing GRS staff to become an essential contributor to adding value to our customers’ businesses and their business success. Mills says that the change was an inevitable step in expanding the business, especially in its mission to extend its products and to move up into the African continent.

Global Roofing Solutions (GRS) is currently operating in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia, and plans to extend its product offering further into Africa with its 100-day plan.

Apart from bringing together two powerful companies and placing them under one roof, the revitalised company also boasts a fully-equipped drafting facility run by competent staff with more than 90years collective experience. GRS’ re-launch is focused on an initial 100-day plan that aims to achieve multi-level customer interaction; a brand new company structure with a super-executive committee so as to speed up decision making; implementing productivity initiatives; launching brand new products like Klip-Tite; and expanding further into Africa. GRS’ new look and feel will establish us as the “Smart Roof People”. According to Gavin Jacobson, chief executive officer (CEO) of GRS, the company will strive to embody a “can do, will do, must do” attitude in all its operations.
 
Additionally, GRS will implement customer relation programmes and streamline product availability to customer requirements, improve scheduling of deliveries and place emphasis on customer satisfaction at all levels.

Our new GRS Klip-Tite product will be the focus of the company going forward with a brand new marketing strategy, as well as market share growth, which is another component of the company’s re-launch. Klip-Tite is a concealed fix profile much like GRS’ Klip-Lok 700, but with vastly increased wind uplift resistance. The traditional stiffening rib, which conventionally runs parallel with the sheet in the pan, has been the major change – Klip-Tite has a transfer rib which runs perpendicular to the main longitudinal rib, therefore changing the dynamics of the sheet completely. This is the only one of its kind on the African continent and the only one of its kind in South Africa. The new generation Klip-Tite transverse pan stiffeners is the never-been-used before concept has been in the making for approximately 6 years, says Mills. We believe that this is certainly going to elevate the ongoing pressure developers are finding themselves under where the importance of the building envelope is becoming critical.

Although GRS has already been a household name in the South African market through the likes of products like Klip-Lok 700 and Klip-Lok 406, one must not lose sight of some of the prestigious projects that have specified GRS products. Some of these projects include the Coca Cola Dome, the unusual British Airways Flight Simulator next to OR Tambo International Airport, the new Medupi and Kusile Power Station King Shaka International Airport and Forest Hills Shopping centre and many major malls and entertainment venues in the country.
