The Equitone high-density fibre cement material shares many remarkable attributes with those of an exceptional woman. Marinda de Beer, product and specifying manager of facades at Marley Building Systems explains, why she relates the Equitone product to a woman.
The Equitone high-density fibre cement material shares many remarkable attributes with those of an exceptional woman. Marinda de Beer, product and specifying manager of facades at Marley Building Systems, explains why.
Using Equitone on a building is like applying good-quality make-up that will see you through the day. The life expectancy of a fibre-cement ventilated facade is said to be in excess of 50 years.
Equitone is a refined product that needs to be cherished and respected. Marley Building Systems therefore has approved installers that can assist with shop drawings and installations throughout South Africa and the rest of Africa.
The individuality of Equitone is in the unique colour, texture and surface of each panel. And we are not talking about a lightweight, but rather a woman of substance.
One can achieve almost any design imaginable combining colours and texture. One can use them as is, print or decal a design on the panels, or go for a perforated option. What’s more, Equitone can be cut into many shapes and sizes.
Equitone is an original through-coloured material with a highly expressive fibre-cement structure. It comes in an original range of natural hues for the through-coloured sheets, but bright colours in non-through coloured materials are also offered.
Like a woman, Equitone offers protection from the elements. Equitone is a ventilated rain-screen facade, designed to protect a building from deflection, allow drainage, keep the building dry and to ensure durability. The product is suitable for interior and exterior cladding applications, offers great sound insulation and is 100% fire-resistant (Euroclass A2).
Equitone’s fibre-cement boards are exceptionally strong and have multiple resistances to demanding environmental influences. The surface, however, has a delicate linen touch.
With the rain-screen system, the outer panel deflects rain and sun heat away from the building. The ventilation space also allows air to circulate freely behind the panel, creating a well ventilated and comfortable inner building.
Equitone is a green build practice which will assist architects in designing healthy buildings. A new revolutionary process permits the majority of the Equitone fibre-cement products to be recycled back into production as a raw material component, lowering the CO2 emissions and reducing energy consumption.
HOLDS HER OWN
Equitone can take care of herself. She is at the forefront of fibre-cement technology and can uphold her beauty and constitution with no need of having to be maintained.
To sum up in the words of Akhenaton, a Pharaoh and sage of his time: “When virtue and modesty enlighten her charms, the lustre of a beautiful woman is brighter than the stars of heaven, and the influence of her power is in vain to resist.”
I call it “My Lady Equitone”.
