Quality service and outstanding product offerings ensure long-standing professional relationships in the flooring industry.

Coricraft is continuing its relationship with Tile Africa Contracts and has entrusted the company to supply tiles for its latest retail stores.

Tile Africa Contracts’ national footprint suits national retailers such as Coricraft as the Tile Africa group is able to offer strategic distribution centres, centralised co-ordination for national projects as well as specialised advice from its knowledgeable consultants and specifiers.

Coricraft stores make use of natural wood, textured floors and strong lighting to showcase their range of products in a ‘contempo-manufacturing’ setting. Tile Africa Contracts supplies the Zebula Beige ceramic tile (available exclusively at Tile Africa) in its tile portfolio range to Coricraft retail stores which are an average size of 1 000 m². This aesthetic large-format tile has a unique windswept design and its neutral hue provides a subtle background colour that complements the furniture displayed in-store.

“We specified this particular tile due to its practicality and durability traits,” says Hennie Chamberlain, Specifier for Tile Africa Contracts. “It has a PEI (Porcelain Enamel Institute) rating of four, which means it offers high abrasion resistance and is the perfect choice for a retail environment. It can withstand shopping trolleys moving over its surface and is also fashionable and easy to clean.”

For the raised retail areas, Tile Africa Contracts specifies a 600 x 150mm wood-look tile that is used on the floor area and as cladding on the stand. For the Coricraft Sleep Studio retail store in Clearwater Mall, Tile Africa Contracts specified a darker coloured large-format ceramic tile, which creates an ambient look in the showroom that is approximately 200 – 300m² in size.

In addition, Tile Africa Contracts also supplied Zebula Beige tiles for Coricraft’s head office in Cape Town. Approximately 600m² of tiles were supplied for reception areas, offices and staff showers, with the 244 x 119 mm metro tile lending a contemporary look to these areas.

As well as specifying tiles that meet the aesthetic requirements, Tile Africa Contracts also ensures that technical specifications are met while providing technical on-site assistance. “We consider the technical aspects of the specification to make sure that what we supply is visually pleasing and suits the project in terms of traffic and durability to ensure success,” concludes Hennie.
