The AR Awards celebrate creativity related to a building type or subject area. For the 2018 instalment of the awards, the best libraries and other buildings for books are being sought out. AR is looking for the best buildings for books that have been completed since 2013 and designers are invited to submit their projects by 21 September 2018.
The entry board that you submit will form the main part of your entry. The top six finalists will be selected by judges, based on the entry boards. Here are a few tips that AR has provided to those interested in submitting a winning entry board:
• Show the wider context of the building so the judges can appreciate the project as a whole and understand why it is a worthy winner.
• Include at least one plan and one section.
• Include images.
• Include explanatory text that is concise and easy to understand.
• Upload the boards as a PDF file containing compressed images, drawings and vectorised text, less than 12Mb.
According to AR, perfection isn’t required. Future-leading, ingenious and inventive ideas in buildings for books over the past five years are invited to submit entry boards. To be recognised as a leading designer of exceptional libraries, submit your entry board here: https://arawards.architectural-review.com/user/register-step-1. Finalists will be visited and their projects will be published in the December/January issue of AR.
