Capco’s range of drywall solutions is designed to offer clients the answer to any requirements in its availability, flexibility and application.
Capco has recently assured the impressive fire performance of its range of drywall products. The products received 30-, 60- and 120-minute fire ratings after being tested and approved according to SABS and SANS 10177-2 methods.
The latest fire-performance test was done with 15mm FireGuard board, which achieved a 30-minute fire resistance as a load-bearing partition, and a 60-minute resistance as a non-load bearing partition.
Capco’s unique Beta Hi-Wall’s stud and track system comes with a deep track that is 50mm instead of the normal 30mm, is load-tested up to a height of 8m and supplied up to a maximum length stud of 11,85m. The system is secured to the floor and structural elements at the top (such as roof purlins) to ensure structural stability and lateral support. A fire rating of up to two hours is possible, depending on the boards used for cladding.
The Beta Hi-Wall can be used in warehouse applications, where high-risk products are stored in conjunction with low-risk products. Additionally, the system can be used to block off an allocated high-risk area. As it is a demountable system, Beta Hi-Wall can easily be removed if the occupation classification changes to low/no risk, which makes it far more cost-effective than brick walls. It is also recommended in light industrial projects as a fire-rated secure division where the average roof height is 6m to 8m. If a tenant wishes to take double occupancy, the wall can be partially or completely demounted.
Capco supplies a range of aluminium sections for office construction, such as door, glazing and ceiling and wall channel sections. The systems are available in different stud and track profile thickness, due to height restrictions and structural stability.
