CHRYSO Southern Africa has appointed Elrene Smuts as their group communications manager.
This promotion follows a 17-year stint at a.b.e. Construction Chemicals, part of the CHRYSO Southern Africa Group. Smuts joined a.b.e. in 2001 as a sales representative in Cape Town and after five years in sales, she relocated to Johannesburg to join a.b.e.’s marketing department, progressing to the post of communications manager for a.b.e.

In her new role, Smuts will be responsible for the promotion of the CHRYSO Group’s entire product segments and routes to market both externally and internally. She will, for example, handle new product launches, website optimisation, literature and packaging, both social and printed media relations as well as staff newsletters, and the formulation of all supportive marketing material and communications.

Smuts will be based at the a.b.e. head office in Boksburg, reporting directly to CHRYSO Southern Africa CEO, Norman Seymore.
