Safintra’s roofing solution was selected to create a traditional farmhouse roof on two show houses in Waterfall Country Estate.

With 80% of the residential properties already sold, the 640ha Waterfall Country Estate and Village is one of the most popular areas in Gauteng for residents to build their dream homes on stands ranging from 1 000m² to 1 750m².

According to Century Property Developments, architectural guidelines have been developed to provide a controlled design theme which secures the integrity of the estate and its ecology, and have selected preferred architects and builders to assist clients in making their dream homes a reality.

Architect Paul Boshoff from Urban Concept Architects has designed two show houses, for which he selected a corrugated roofing profile supplied by Safintra South Africa. The contractor on the projects was Victor Turnkey Projects.

“The inspiration for the design was the traditional Highveld farmhouse with a typical corrugated roof that includes gable vents, roof vents and deep verandas. Safintra’s roofing solution provided a modern interpretation of these old-fashioned farmhouse roofs,” he explains.

“The product’s flexibility makes it easy to work with since different pitches are possible, allowing a variation of steep and low pitch roofs to be used in the same design. Modern coated steel is also lightweight and low maintenance,” he adds.

According to Boshoff, another reason for specifying this supplier is the good service and high quality that he has become accustomed to receive from Safintra over the years.
