The Southern Africa Wood, Laminate & Flooring Association (SAWLFA) was formed by foresighted people in the face of competitive materials and “under trained competitors” to collectively address issues facing the wood and laminate sector of the Southern African flooring industry. SAWLFA membership is drawn from installers to suppliers and in this article the organisation would like to highlight some of the faces behind its operations:

Sasha Kozinsky, co Vice Chairman of SAWFLA, started in the flooring industry in 2003. He works at FinFloor and has been the vice chairman of SAWFLA for the past three years.

Neil Smith from Derrington Floors is an executive board member of SAWLFA. He has been in the flooring industry for the past 10 years and he joined the executive committee of SAWLFA in 2017, having being a member of the Association since 2008.

Pasi P Muzvidziwa is the chairman of SAWLFA and he works at Single Title Investments T/A WOODEN DECKS & FLOORS PLUS. Pasi has been in the flooring industry for over 10 years and a member of the executive board for 3 years. In May 2018, he was appointed as chairman of the organisation.

Nicholas Marchant from Spark Installations is an executive member of SAWLFA. He is an accredited installer and a proud member of the association. He became an executive member of SAWLFA in May 2018.

Hailing from Top Carpets Vereeniging, Tania Kriel-Coetzer has been in the flooring industry for a decade and she was appointed as an executive board member in May this year.


G (Morgan) Reddy from GB Flooring has been in the flooring industry for the past 22 years. He has been an executive member of the committee for the past 6 years.

Kito Botha from Floor Trader Meadowdale was elected onto the executive committee in May this year and he has been in the flooring industry for the last 18 years.

Zahir Bham from Azura Distributors has been part of SAWLFA for the last 20 years. He has been on the executive board of the association for four years and looks forward to continuing to service the industry with high standards and ethics to ensure the South African flooring industry continues to be amongst the best in the world.

SAWLFA’s co vice chairman is Andrew Kirkwood from Traviata Flooring. With 14 years’ experience under his belt, he has been part of the SAWLFA executive team for many years. He is currently serving his third year as Co Vice Chairman.

Kobus de Klerk from Top Carpets Benoni started in the flooring trade in 2005 and he has been part of the SAWLFA executive team since 2016.

SAWLFA’s secretariat is Liza van der Linden. She started in the flooring trade in 1996 and joined SAWLFA in February 2018.
