Exciting developments are taking place in the Middle East, with several exhibitions being held this year that will highlight several unique floorcoverings.

The Middle East is set to spend trillions of USD on construction by 2020, to which the flooring and carpet industry will be a key contributor.

This is being driven by strong year-on-year growth as a result of heavy government investments and a number of key market drivers including the AFC Asian Cup 2019, Dubai World Expo 2020, Qatar FIFA World Cup 2022, growing tourism and hospitality needs as well as commercial, residential, industrial and retail infrastructure developments.

The 2015 Arab Carpet Expo, along with the incorporated Arab Flooring Expo, Yarn and Fiber Expo, and the International Green Carpet and Flooring Conference all aim to provide a set of world-class international flooring and carpet industry events in Abu Dhabi at the award-winning ADNEC venue.

Abu Dhabi is the symbolic and chosen city for these events due to the presence of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which owns one of the world’s largest handmade carpets and boasts unique mosaic stone flooring.

The Arab Carpet Expo will focus specifically on hand- and machine-made carpets and rugs, standard industrial, commercial and residential carpet and many other carpet floorcovering. In turn, the Arab Flooring Expo is focused on all types of indoor floorcoverings, including but not limited to marble, natural stone, ceramic, wood, vinyl, parquet and laminate, as well as outdoor flooring such as paving, walkways, decking, etc. The Yarn and Fiber Expo will focus primarily on yarn, fibre and related raw materials, technologies and innovations in this part of the industry.

Lastly, the International Green Carpet and Flooring Conference will run alongside these specialised exhibitions in 2015 in order to introduce and discuss the highly important topic of carpet recycling and sustainable flooring to a region of the world where there is a huge demand for, and supply of, carpet and flooring.
