The first Pan-Africa Virtual Interior Design Summit took place from 19 to 30 March 2018. On the opening day, expert speaker Dorothy van’t Riet spoke on “The History of Interior Design and its impact on Africa”.

Nigerian interior designers Osaru Alile and Lara Lape Cameron-Cole founded the event to give Africans a practical guide to the practice of Interior Design as well as the opportunity to be a part of an active African Interior Design community. Other speakers at the event included Doyin Abiola-Tobun (Executive Director at Concrete Lilies Services Limited), Nana Spio-Garbrah (founder and Creative Director of Blueprint Africa), Titi Ogufere (founder of the Interior Designers Association of Nigeria) and Jordan Awori (a Nairobi-based interior designer and decorator, writer and artist.
