The FLOORS and WALLS&ROOFS team, held their annual Johannesburg Roadshow recently. We had a great team encouraging over 230 specifiers to ‘espresso themselves’ at our mobile coffee shop and enjoy the snacks, the entertainment and other treats.

“While we experienced some rain on the day, it didn’t darken the mood of the professionals we went to visit or the sponsors of the day,” says Media in Africa’s Editor in Chief and Managing Director, Marlene van Rooyen.

The Roadshow gave product manufacturers a unique opportunity to connect with specifiers and decision makers in fun, informal settings. Many of our clients sent their best networkers to the event armed with business cards, samples and brochures to make the most of the opportunity.

“We were truly able to present our clients’ brands to a variety of people. The Roadshow opened the door to obtaining formalised meetings with organisations that clients wanted to do business with in future and our customers reported that such meetings have been scheduled,” says Marlene.

Feedback from some of the Roadshow sponsors was overwhelmingly positive. Not only did the event help them connect with businesses that they hadn’t been able to reach in years, but we also introduced them to organisations that they were previously unaware of.

“The Roadshow is a very cost effective way to see over 200 professionals in a day. Where we visited organisations that the sponsors were familiar with, it gave them a great opportunity to re-establish their brands and build on their relationships. It was a fun day that was well spent,” says Marlene.

We live in a world that is cluttered with marketing messages and keeping a brand in the mind of the right audience has become increasingly difficult. Even well-known and loved brands are sometimes forgotten.

“The Roadshow proved to be an excellent way to provide people with a great experience of our clients’ brands and to connect them with the right people in the right businesses,” concludes Marlene.
