Designed and tested for structurally glazed curtain wall applications, Den Braven’s Silicone Structural Glazing Sealant 795-4000 is a one-component, high-strength neutral cure sealant.
It is typically used for in-shop or field glazing of curtain wall modules where glass lights are attached to the metal framing system with the structural sealant. This material can also be used as the weather seal in glass-to-glass butt joints.

Silicone-NO MF & MFT (matt finish and matt finish transparent) is designed as a weather sealant around the glazing joints to prevent moisture from entering into the glazing panel.

Made for the exterior
Michael Berg, national sales and marketing manager at Den Braven, points out that Silicone Structural Glazing Sealant 795-4000 exhibits excellent resistance to ultraviolet radiation, the ozone, high and low temperatures and water vapour. “It is compatible with many types of coated glass, metal finishes, glazing gaskets, setting blocks and spacers,” he states. “ Silicone –NO is a versatile neutral silicone sealant used for but not limited to glazing and façade joints which when cured will form a durable elastic rubber which is non-corrosive towards metals, allows for adhesion without a primer onto most substrates and is low in VOC’s. Silicone – NO is now available in a Charcoal/ anthracite variation.” he adds.

Aesthetics and packaging
Silicone Structural Glazing Sealant 795-4000 is available in black, in 310ml cartridges or 600ml foil packs on request. Silicone –NO is available in 300ml cartridges and 600ml foil packs on request.

How to ensure optimum performance
Den Braven recommends to test on a project-by-project basis each substrate and component used in a structural glazing assembly for adhesion and compatibility to assure optimum performance.

“No sealant will maintain long-term adhesion to any substrate if the surface is not prepared and cleaned properly before the sealant is applied,” he adds. “Using proper materials, as well as following prescribed surface preparation and cleaning procedures, is vital for sealant adhesion.

“For this reason, the Den Braven team of technical sales consultants are on hand to discuss the requirements of a project, and if necessary, visit the site to provide advice and training in the application requirements and procedures of any Den Braven sealant.”
