Supplied in a dry powder form, Permastop is intended for use as a slurry coating and for plugging holes.
Essentially, the chemicals in the mixture combine with any water that is present in the cement and migrate into the concrete or cement plaster, thereby effectively waterproofing the structure. The chemicals penetrate the capillaries of concrete and cement surfaces effectively, and permanently seal them off from moisture ingress.
As the crystalline waterproofing is formed within the concrete, it cannot be punctured or damaged like a membrane or surface coating. It will withstand high hydrostatic pressure from both the positive and negative side. What’s more, it is a continuous chemical reaction that will happen indefinitely, whenever the chemicals get in contact with water.
Permastop crystalline waterproofing is highly resistant to chemicals and unaffected by humidity, ultraviolet light and oxygen levels. It therefore offers great resistance to acid attack on concrete.
A wide variety of waterproofing applications is possible in areas such as basements, reservoirs, dry docks, sewers and to prevent rising damp in buildings. It also acts as an excellent bonding agent for connecting new concrete to aged concrete.
