Flexible acoustic ceiling tiles are applied to fit complicated designs.
When it comes to complex ceiling installations where acoustic properties are important considerations, Capco offers technologically advanced, but practical solutions that can meet specific design requirements.
Providing customised ceiling and partitioning systems to developers and design professionals in Africa for more than two decades, Capco is the sole stockist and distributor of Daiken mineral-fibre acoustic ceiling tiles locally. This product offers diverse and attractive surface patterns, such as the timeless non-directional fissured and pin perforated patterns.
Thanks to Daiken’s focus on sustainability, particularly on minimising waste during production, its manufacturing plant has earned ISO 14001 certification and has won the Australian Environmental Choice Award.
Daiken Tiles are made up of 76% recycled material.
The Daiken mineral-fibre acoustic ceiling tiles have been installed in many high-profile projects such as King Shaka International Airport, the SAB offices, Nedbank, Standard Bank, The Spar Retail Training College, Transnet and Softline in Mt Edgecombe.
The quality and durability of the ceiling tiles, as well as their ease of use and flexibility, were the reasons why the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) and Bambanani Joint Venture specified these products for the King Shaka International Airport project, according to Capco managing director, Barry Gould.
“Another reason why these products were selected was the fact that Daiken mineral-fibre acoustic tiles have a 99% relative humidity resistance at 50°C and carry a ten-year guarantee against sagging. This also means they can be used in non-air-conditioned areas,” notes Gould.
With a management team that boasts over 40 years of experience in the industry, Capco is aptly equipped to come up with solutions to any design challenges. On this project the team was able to create unique curved designs as well as “island” designs where independent islands appear to float from the ceiling.
“Although the ceiling systems were developed to satisfy the requirements of the designer, the systems also cater for the practical on-site problems faced by the installer,” Gould adds.
