Symphony EVP (engineered vinyl planks) has created a buzz in the market.

“One of the trendiest flooring categories on the market is Symphony EVP (engineered vinyl planks),” says Sasha Kozinsky, Director at Finfloor SA. “This type of flooring has created a buzz in the market with many design professionals enquiring about the flooring’s origin, features and technical specifications.”

Products from EVP, which is considered a composite material, are also known as luxury vinyl flooring, waterproof vinyl and engineered vinyl planks. EVP has a rigid, strong and dimensionally stable PVC resin and calcium carbonate composite core that is able to hide subfloor imperfections. EVP flooring has a 4.0mm engineered composite core made from virgin material, plus a 1,5mm vinyl layer with a 0,5mm wear overlay. When installed, the indoor air quality of the project’s space is better thanks to the formaldehyde free nature of the product. It is also 100% waterproof, which is a significant benefit for many professionals in the industry.

Symphony Engineered Vinyl has a glue-less ‘click’ system which makes installation very easy. The 0,5mm commercially rated wear layer performs in the most demanding applications and the product has a lower carbon footprint, requires less maintenance and is more recyclable than similar flooring solutions.

Many different trends in the hardwood market, notably greys and dark muted tones as well as traditional looking wood, can be achieved with the five unique colours of Symphony EVP, namely Mojave, Tanami, Sinai, Colorado and Sonoran. The product exceeds the performance standards of LVT’s (luxury vinyl tiles) and is available from leading flooring outlets in South Africa. Visit Finfloor’s website to find a stockist in your area.
